A healthy breakfast is one of the keys to a great body, good health - and energy for the rest of the day. But what most people don’t understand is that you do not have to eat breakfast first thing in the morning. Here’s a simple and healthy breakfast recipe that you can pre-make, ahead of time - and enjoy in the mid to late morning as part of a ‘meal shifting’ fitness/weight loss plan.

While the muscle-heads reading this article will scream out in fear of not getting enough protein - I will calmly note that since I’ve cut my protein intake in half, a few years ago (it was way too high) - I have not lost a single ounce of muscle, but I do look better - and I feel much better.

BREAKFAST TIME: 11am

Yeah some people may say “Oh, that too late to be eating breakfast!” - but if you are already hip to the ‘meal shifting’ tactic - then you know how this works. If not - here’s a quick summary:

Instead of eating first thing in the morning - you wait until mid to late morning to get your first meal in. Naturally all of your meals get pushed/shifted back a few hours - giving you less opportunity to overeat and consume unnecessary calories.

Here’s the recipe:

- 1/3 cup whole oats - cooked on low heat (stove) for 10 minutes in…
- 3/4 cup water

…When cooked - drop on top of…

- 1/2 small/medium banana
- 1 tablespoon dried berry mix (I used Newman’s Own Organic)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon powder
- 1 heaping tablespoon of (organic) ground flax seed (this is vital to my daily nutrition)
- 1 strong pinch of stevia extract powder (for all natural, zero calorie sweetness)

Stir it up…

Add some water to tweak the consistency to your preference…

Enjoy!

I eat this about five times per week.

If scheduling this type of breakfast for your self is a challenge - try this…

On Sunday, follow the same recipe as above. Just multiply it by 5. When it is done - divide it up into 5 storage containers - and put them into the refrigerator.

Now you have one for each day of the week.

Done!

No excuses!

Healthy Breakfast Foods List Foods That Can Help You Lose Weight & Stay Healthy
By Philip Hixonn

When it comes to losing weight many people don’t have the time or the money to seek out a nutritionist to plan out a diet, set up meal plans and continue to regularly visit their nutritionist. Sometimes people just lose focus. Everyone knows that proper eating habits are just part of the battle to lose weight. However, below I will talk about foods that you can easily include in your diet that will not only help you burn fat and calories, but fill you up as well. These are foods that can and should be added to a healthy breakfast foods list.

A very simple food to include would be oatmeal. It is easy to prepare and is a soluble fiber which reduces your cholesterol. Now, you probably do not like your oatmeal plain. If eating oatmeal plain sounds like a stretch for you, you can easily add a little taste using some peaches or honey so long as you do not add sugar.

Whole grains and beans are an excellent source of fiber. While things such as white bread, white rice, pasta and baked beans are to be avoided, whole grains are not processed and contain many nutrients that your body needs. As well, beans are also a great source of protein.

Start using olive oil more in your cooking. Studies show that monounsaturated fat, which is rich in olive oil may help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease as well as a number of other health benefits. It also helps to burn fat and lower cholesterol.

Blueberries are small but they could have a big impact on your overall health. Blueberries have been known to help reduce the risk of all sorts of diseases, lower cholesterol and help control blood pressure. Plus, they taste great.

Another thing that you could add to your regular diet that, like beans and whole grains, are high in fiber. Things such a apples and other fruits and vegetables. Apples have been known to have many antioxidant properties. Also, they have as much if not more Vitamin C than things such as orange juice.

When it comes to eating smarter to lose weight you do not always have to go to extremes in changing your diet. Sometimes making a few small changes at a time, over time will improve your health for the better and also your quality of life.
